Cole Taylor, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois. He is a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc., and a member of the American Counseling Association. Cole counsels from an existential perspective and works to help students live authentically and fully through an understanding of values, perspective, free will, and purpose in order to better connect with their personal, social, natural, and spiritual worlds. He has a particular interest in working with athletes, students experiencing depression and/or grief, and also helping to reduce mental health stigma, especially within the male population.
Cole graduated from the University of Illinois Springfield with a Master of Arts in Human Development Counseling in 2025, and from Miami University in Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2022. He was a Counseling Intern at 探花社区 during the final year of his Master's program (2024-2025) before beginning full-time in the summer of 2025. He completed his counseling practicum with Vicari Counseling in Springfield, IL, and the "group counseling" part of his internship with Art Express- SIU School of Medicine Smith Alzheimer's Center, also in Springfield. Cole completed a minor in German at Miami and has completed 3 semesters of Spanish electives between Miami and 探花社区.
Cole was born and raised in Springfield, IL, and has lived in central Illinois his whole life, aside from his time in Ohio during college. Prior to completing school, Cole worked as a Peer Mentor for international students at Miami, a home-based care Personal Assistant through the Illinois Department of Human Services, and a Registered Behavioral Technician with The Autism Clinic at Hope.
Cole's hobbies include staying active, enjoying nature and the outdoors, spending time with family and loved ones, traveling and exploring, learning, experiencing new things, landscape photography, watching sports, golfing, and listening to music.
